The best of myWanderlust this week

Last week you showed us the animals. This week you talked about them

Last week we ran a wildlife photography competition on myWanderlust. You might remember clicking through page after page of truly awesome wildlife images from all over the world.

This week we asked you to write about your wildlife experiences and the response has been just as immense. From some monkey business in Thailand with Roamingrowley through to a piranha lunch with DavidRoss, there’s something for (and from) everyone.

There’s even a piece from Son of Fintown Trekker about salivating for a leopard’s supper. It’s true what they say: the apple never falls far from the tree.

Over at the Forum, some warnings and requests. RobJH has spotted changes on the KLM website that indicate that they’re going to start charging for checked baggage after April 22. Expect other major airlines to follow suit – keep an eye on our budget airline cabin-baggage guide here.

Roseattack is looking for tips on renting a campervan in Canada. BPJ50 wants to know where all the relevant travel blogs are (apart from this one.) And Layhe has a week to kill in Ecuador and wants your advice. Help them all here.

Farawayvisions has just discovered that you can vote for your own contributions to myWanderlust. (Why do you think mine are always so highly rated?)

Shepherd Jamie (great name, by the way) has just come back from Budapest and recommends taking the alternative walking tour of the Jewish Ghetto there. Howellsey has been enjoying the mountain scenery and great snow in Andorra. Lynne14 has returned singing the praises of the backwaters of Varkala in Kerala.

R Lishman is still recovering from the Sydney Mardi Gras, marvelling at the drag queens in all their finery. I probably went to school with them.

Over at the Photography section, Farawayvisions has posted images from Norway, Sburn7 shares some Brazilian Love and nratty gets up close and personal with gorillas.

Speaking of up close and personal, I hope that kid in Sburn7’s set of photos from Bali isn’t doing what I think he’s doing.

There’s enough of that sort of thing already here at the Towers.

See you next week.
