The best from myWanderlust this week

Come in and sit down. I'll get the glasses

You might remember Donna McDowell’s report in Just Back From last week about the Route de Cidre in France. Well, she’s only gone and posted some photos from the trip.

I must say I was surprised by how classy the cider looked. Very fancy looking bottles. For someone who grew up thinking Strongbow Dry was the height of sophistication, it was nigh on mind-blowing. I might just have to pop over the Channel this summer and check out the Cidre Dupont Reserve myself. Thanks for the tip(ple) Donna!

Before you move on from the Photography galleries, don’t forget to check out Chandaala’s set of photos on street life in India and Jamie Furlong’s minimal set from the Maldives. It’s great to see two of our more exciting photographers in our community trying new things. Markymark983’s set from Northern Cyprus is worth checking out too. And I love JayR’s shot of a Kathakali dancer applying his makeup in Kerala. Brilliant.

More polite requests for help this week in the Forum. JuliaS wants to know where she can leave luggage in London, Red Pepper is looking for homestay suggestions in Luang Prabang. And kalm wants your ideas on places to go to relax in July. Must be cheap and not in the UK. Help them all here.

Over at Experiences, I’d like you to give a big, warm myWanderlust welcome to WildKiwi. WildKiwi has posted three terrific Experiences from Fiji, one about Robinson Crusoe Island, another about playing rugby with some locals and then another on a jungle trek.

It's good to see Ianhoward back too. He reports from Kakani in Nepal and the subterranean tunnels of Jerusalem. Nick78 puts on his cowboy boots and goes to the rodeo in Arizona. JayR encounters a cow in a classroom. And Fintown Trekker recounts – in detail – about his trip to London to go to Desties. All worth a read.

Finally, it’s been a quiet week over at Just Back From. I suspect it’s because most of you Aren’t Back Yet. Kim Lloyd has been to Bali and recommends getting on a bike. And Jayne Barber is back from Baja California where she went whale watching and had them pretty much to herself.

Anyway, that’s it from me. I’m off to Sainsbury’s to see if they’ve got any French cidre. Wish me luck!
