The best of myWanderlust this week

Is it rude to ask a myWanderluster their age?

3 mins

Judging by Scheungy's forum post it's not. She asked what the average age of a myWanderluster and rather than being told to mind her own damn business, she was inundated with people revealing how many years they've been on this planet. Indeed, a battle has emerged to be either the youngest or oldest myWanderlusters. I'm guessing Schuengy is now busily collating the ages admitted to and will have the average age over to us soon.

Elsewhere on the forum, chandaala is looking to bond with his son over a backpacking trip through Europe and wants your advice. On the backpacking, not the bonding. And Kavey has given in to her heart and is heading back to Japan. Your tips on what she should see would be greatly appreciated.

Over at Just Back From, numerous myWanderlusters have sloped home from various exotic corners of the globe. Emilysepicadventures has been swimming with whale sharks in the Philippines and RebeccaJaneFoster has been snorkelling with schools of fish off Koh Tao in Thailand. Steve Butler watched Ethiopian wolves hunting mole rats, but didn't bump into Alan Taylor who was back in Gonder speaking the local lingo with a distinctly Gonderi accent. Well done.

Denmark seems to be popular too. Both PChilds and brendaconybeare have returned from the Danish capital with tips and suggestions.

Over to Experiences, and ColinO has more tales from Rwanda and ROBJH re-posts his old account about travellers without tickets, or parasites to you and I. R Lishman, on the other hand, delights and informs with an account of her time working as a meat packer in Dubbo. Best job she's ever had, she reckons.Vegoutside comes face-to-face with a Bengal tiger.

Before leaving Experiences, make sure you check out nratty's tale of being an honorary Viking at the Up Helly Aa festival in the Shetland Islands. Great story, terrific pictures.

Over at our Photography section, Roamingrowley has been a busy beaver, posting a set of photos from Northern Thailand AND some pics of cheeky monkeys at the annual Monkey Buffet Festival in Lop Buri. IanPackham takes us on a photographic journey through East and North Africa and farawayvisions reveals the good, the bad and the ugly in Nepal. And finally, to chandaala's Naga Babas. Another terrific set from the photographer who brought you our extremely popular 'Caption This' pic.

Have you added your mildly salacious, single entendre effort yet?
