The best of myWanderlust this week

Questions. Questions. Questions. And some answers

3 mins

Wandering around myWanderlust this week, I was put in mind of the American soft rock band The Babys. Fronted by the fresh-faced John Waite, they had a couple of hits back in the 70s with 'Every Time I Think of You' and 'Isn’t It Time'.

I don’t know whether they were big or not here in the UK, but back in Oz, you couldn’t turn around without hearing John imploring that he just couldn’t find the answers to the questions that kept going through his mind.

I’m not sure John’s questions were travel related. I suspect they may have been more to do with matters of the heart.  But 2 minutes 32 seconds into the song they’d been answered and he declares that he had finally found the answers to the questions that kept going through his mind. Pretty good going, you’ve got to admit.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: why is Peter telling us this? Is it just another of his transparent ploys to embed a YouTube video of a song that he likes but I could well do without ever hearing?

Well, yes it is.  But it’s also a rather lame segue into the fact that all your travel-related questions going through your mind can be answered on the myWanderlust forum. And in pretty much the same time John’s matters amore were cleared up.

Maybe that’s why the Forum this week is chock full of queries from myWanderlusters about to hit the road. HMK is looking for great places to visit in Argentina. PeterLoftus is going overland from Santiago to Mendoza and wants advice. Suzycatpope wants the scoop on top tours to Tunisia. KayTro is off to Crete and satkinson is heading to Brussels and they both want your tips. If you’ve got the answers to those questions going through your mind, pop over here and help out.

Marcpj is just back from canal boating in Shropshire, rhapsodising about the clear night skies. Welshdragon is similarly pleased after seeing a wolf in the Glacier National Park in Montana. And ATP Travels got a totally different perspective of the Dordognes in France, from a hot air balloon.

Over at Experiences, DavidRoss has returned from the Shetlands, with a new found respect for the UK’s – and his own – extremities. Ian Howard is back from Nepal with two tales – one about returning to Kathmandu, the other about the climb to Lhakan Thapa. And april0304 recounts a Kenyan safari that took her from Nairobi to Samburu, Lake Nakuru and Keekorok reserves.

Finally, to Photography, where PeterJ2002 unleashes his inner Alan Partridge with a set of photos from Norwich, Scott Bennett gets a closer look at the dental work of hippos in Zambia and ATP Travels puts pictures to the words about her balloon adventure over the Dordognes.

So, questions asked, questions answered, and a bit of 70s soft rock to serenade you into the weekend.

What more could you ask for?
