The best from myWanderlust this week

Spring has finally sprung. On myWanderlust, at least...

I don't know what the weather has been doing in your corner of the world, but here at the Towers, it has been distinctly underwhelming. The sun made a half-hearted attempt to put in an appearance on the weekend but has quickly retreated back behind the customary grey drizzle that seems the norm in this part of the world.

In an attempt to lift flagging spirits, the Flower in Power at the Towers put out the call for Spring-themed experiences and I'm pleased to report that you responded with your usual zeal. Pop over and have a look around. Burma, Morocco, even Wales, await in all the sunny (or soggy) splendour.

While you're there, make sure you check out part three of markymark983's 84-mile pub crawl, ATP Travel's Easter antics on the Isle of Mull and Liz Cleere's piece on leaving India. All worth a look.

Things are considerably sunnier over at Just Back From too. Sammy McIntyre has just returned playing with seal pups under a waterfall in the South Island of New Zealand. Hmoat01 has conquered Adam's Peak and reports on the other delights of Kandy and the Hill Country in Sri Lanka. And waller1985 sings the praises of the friendly locals encountered in Istanbul and Cappadocia. JayR has been celebrating the Holi festival in Jodphur. While Kevin Hayden has been hanging out with farmers in the hidden corners of County Donegal.

Things have been a bit quiet over at the Forum, but Kereith was still able to garner some good advice from myWanderlusters on how the deal with the minor annoyances of Milan's central railway station. ROBJH is excited about Sebastiao Salgado's upcoming Genesis exhibition, which opened yesterday at the Natural History Museum in London. And Liz Cleere has put out the call for the songs that inadvertently take you back to a time and place in your travels (Full disclosure: All That She Wants by Ace of Base immediately takes me back to the Buzz Bar in Oludeniz and a time when I had more hair and was deemed relatively interesting by a pretty English film student. So the song does have some merit). Pop over and have your say here.

Things are brighter over at the Photography section as well. Donna McDowell takes us on a slow and sunny wander through Greece and Italy. JayR introduces us to three generations of Rajasthani women. And lindatobey has posted a terrific set of photos from Yunnan. Even louie28's pics from Antarctica look brighter than the view out of the window here at the Towers.

The good news is that the Met Office is predicting 18 degrees and sun on Sunday. Might have to dust off the BBQ...
