A recently-launched travel company offers consumers the opportunity to give back when they travel.

Charity Travel Auction allows people to ‘buy now’ or bid on amazing travel experiences and holidays, with all profits going towards frontline NHS workers, as well as benefitting local communities across the globe who have struggled the most during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The initiative was conjured up by Matthew and Sarah Callaway, who both contracted the virus back in April 2020. After recovering from the illness, Sarah, who works as an NHS Physio on coronavirus wards, and Matt, who has 15+ years in the travel industry, decided they wanted to do something to help those who have been negatively impacted by the pandemic.

By launching Charity Travel Auction, Matt and Sarah hope to help 'build back better' and get people thinking about socially responsible travel. Using only independent, local travel experts who provide on the ground support, each trip will ensure travellers see the very best of the destination they visit. Among the variety of incredible experiences available is a luxurious 5* break in Antigua, a wine estate escape in Bolivia, an awe-inspiring safari in Kenya and a whale-watching adventure in the Azores.

Matt said: “The money that clients bid goes directly to the people in the place being visited and, because we cut out the middle men, we can pass all of the profit that usually goes to travel agents, to good causes like the NHS Covid appeal.”

Covid-safe protocols are followed on all trips, and destinations like Sri Lanka, Galapagos, Rwanda and many more will go online soon as travel continues to open up for vaccinated British travellers. All trips are ATOL bonded, ensuring that clients’ money is 100% protected, and interested travellers can pick up the telephone and talk to a travel advisor in the UK if they want to find out more.
