And the Wanderlust offices too. Our intrepid editorial assistant, Clare, is back from her journey to the centre of the earth in Iceland last week, and things are still a little, shall we say, sulphuric.

You too will want to be lowered into a volcano on a window cleaner's rig. I guarantee it. She visited other parts of Iceland too and gives her tips on what to do (and not do) over at Just Back From. Claire has also posted a couple of pics over at the Photography section too. Luckily the new issue of the magazine isn't on deadline. Yet.
Meanwhile, over at the Forum, Howellsy has picked up the Olympic baton and asked myWanderlusters about their sporting travels – sporting events they travelled to see, happened upon or inadvertently took part in. I believe sport can give a real insight into a place and it seems a lot of other myWanderlusters agree. Have you got a sporting tale to tell? Tell it here.
Which reminds me of the time I was wandering the back streets of Karachi and came upon an impromptu game of street cricket. On learning that I was an Aussie, the young boys tossed me the ball and asked me to bowl. My first delivery went down leg side. But my second clean bowled the batsmen, a lad of about 15. I had the good sense to walk away at the point, leaving the boys nodding there heads in awe, convinced that all Aussies can bowl like Glen McGrath.
But I digress. Also on the Forum, Liz Cleere has taken my post about unfortunately named products by the scruff of the neck and taken it down into the gutter with talk about slapper shoes from Mombasa and S'melles insoles from France. As usual with Liz, it makes required reading.
