The best from myWanderlust this week

Last year it was a jar of sweets. This year, an armful of brochures. Fintown Trekker is a man on a mission

With the evil wind farmers sent packing – well, at least until the appeal – Fintown Trekker has been a man bereft of a mission. Well, until he stumbled upon Ireland's tourism campaign, The Gathering. He came to Destinations loaded with brochures about the campaign, singing the praises of Donegal airport and inviting everyone over to share a Guinness or three.

He still came bearing a jar of sweets. It was just considerably smaller this year. No doubt to leave more room for the brochures, calenders and hand-written, personalised invitations.

What a terrific turnout there was at the myWanderlust catch up at Destinations in London this year. A lot more people than last year, and not just because DrG turned up with his one-month-old daughter, Wee G. (Or his MiniG, as I like to call her.) A big shout out to all the legends of myWanderlust who turned up for a cuppa, a chat and the cakes and biscuits provided by AngelaR and Ehalford.

Of course, the catch up wasn't just about swapping tales and comparing people with their avatars. There were myWanderlust awards to be handed out as well.

None of the winners were in attendance. (And no, that wasn't a cunning ploy to avoid rambling, incoherent acceptance speech from Fintown.) But judging by the number of nodding heads as they were read out, all were accepted as worthy winners.

So for those of you who weren't there, here's the list again:
