The Comoros Islands, just off Africa's south-east coast, are worth a visit. We recently went off the beaten track and explored the spice isles, and discovered the best things to do while hopping the islands.
So, where's best to stay in the Comoros Islands during your visit? We've picked the best hotels for you to peruse, suitable for a host of different travel styles, including sprawling rooms with killer beach views, zen stays on board with the 'wellness' trend, and friendly family-run B&Bs...
Retaj International is a good option on the coast. It has no beach but rooms are clean and spacious.
Golden Tulip has pleasant ocean-facing rooms with a great bar and a nice sandy beach.
Hotel Al-Amal (+269 771 1010) is the best option in town with clean sea-facing rooms – although dining over the road at Pension Papillon is recommended.
Maison AZ&MA (+269 616268) is located in the ’burbs in a family home. The larger chambre confort plus rooms are recommended.
Le Relais Forestier comprises hillside bungalows within lemur-rich forest; there’s a Zen feel on account of the on-site yoga classes.
Les Baobabs is a residential house in Bandrele with lovely rooms furnished with a seaside flavour and great views from the breakfast terrace.
