Improve your photography in magical Istanbul, cross-roads of East and West. Bustling souks, the Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque: there is a wealth of colourful material here. You will be mentored throughout by top photographer Paul Harris in a fun and constructive environment. For anyone interested in travel photography, this offers a stimulating weekend that will lift your work to the next level.

Paul Harris – Paul is an award-winning photographer. As well as being a regular contributor to Wanderlust and Take Better Travel Photos, he is on the judging panel of the Wanderlust Travel Photo of the Year Competition – the UK’s largest travel photography competition.

Depending on the numbers on the trip, a senior member of the Wanderlust team may join you too.
Level: Suitable for all levels. Beginners very welcome; experienced photographers will learn much too.
Day 1 Fri We check in to our Istanbul hotel today and meet Paul Harris who will be leading you on your photographic discovery. Your first session will be late afternoon when we will have a quick introduction to the weekend, before a welcome drink and heading out for dinner together.
Day 2 Sat After breakfast, the group will head out together to explore the town. You will be given a set of exercises to do, that will get you thinking about your photography in a different way and encourage you to experiment.
In the afternoon, we will head again to take photographs, this time to start gathering together a set of photographs on a theme of your choice.
Returning to our hotel in the afternoon, we will have a critique / feedback session of your work so far, before heading out to dinner.
Day 3 Sun We will have a morning workshop / seminar before heading out into the city to continue your exploration and shooting.
Returning to our hotel in the afternoon, we will have a critique / feedback session of your work again. We will talk about next steps with your photography, and can discuss tips on winning photography competitions and on getting published. We will then head out for a final dinner.
Day 4 Mon After breakfast our tour comes to an end. It’s time to say goodbye at the hotel and head to the airport for your flight home or continue your travels in Turkey.

We have designed these tours to give you the option of taking up an all-inclusive package which includes your air seats, or the option of making your own way there and then meeting up with the rest of your group at the hotel.

Flights: Wanderlust Journeys can arrange flights and airport transfers on arrival at your destination. Flights, together with airport transfers, are available from London from £235 per person in conjunction with this tour. You can book flights yourself or we can book them for you.
