The focus of this tour is to see the white-necked picathartes and we will be one of the first groups to stay within walking distance of a picathartes nesting site.
With 12 of the 15 West African Upper Guinea endemic species, Ghana is a fantastic destination for birding and nature enthusiasts. We begin in Kakum National Park with canopy birding in Upper Guinea rainforest before camping in the evergreen rainforest of Ankasa Reserve, which protects many rare species. Next we stay in a camp near a picarthartes nest site and have two opportunities to see this near-mythical species. We end the trip with visits to further key wildlife sites.
