We visit the wild ancient forest of Białowieża, and unspoilt marshland in Biebrza, in search of some of Europe’s finest birdwatching and other wildlife.
From the vast Biebrza Marshes to the ancient forest of Białowieża, we travel through a timeless landscape where working horses still pull wooden carts, farm animals still run free among wooden buildings, and ponds are still scattered across the flower-rich countryside. A two-centre holiday during peak breeding season, we make daily excursions from both these prime wildlife locations in search of exciting birds including corncrake, warblers, nine species of woodpecker, lekking great snipe and a variety of mammals such as European bison and pine marten.
