Galápagos Exclusive With Mark Carwardine

From: £Contact us

Join Mark Carwardine on this exclusive 11-night voyage on board the comfortable 16-berth MV Beluga to experience the iconic wildlife of the Galápagos Islands.

In September 1835, a young Charles Darwin travelling aboard the HMS Beagle arrived in the Galápagos and set about observing a range of specimens that would play a crucial role in formulating his Theory of Evolution. For many, this history is enough to warrant a visit to this remarkable archipelago, but when considered alongside the unique wildlife experiences to be seen on land and in the water around these remote islands, a visit is a must for every wildlife enthusiast.

We are delighted to offer a new 11-night voyage to the Galápagos with zoologist and broadcaster Mark Carwardine. Travelling aboard the exclusively chartered 16-berth MV Beluga, we have designed a comprehensive itinerary that will allow participants to experience the region's famed wildlife first hand, gaining a fascinating insight into the ecology and history of the respective islands.

Visiting no fewer than 12 islands in the archipelago, we hope to observe an incredible range of wildlife both above and below the waves which will also allow for some superb photographic opportunities. Blue-footed booby, magnificent frigatebird, the endemic Galápagos flightless cormorant, marine iguana, red-billed tropicbird, Galápagos penguin, lava lizard, land iguana, Galápagos sealion and of course the giant tortoise are all species that we aim to encounter whilst we navigate the archipelago.

The time of our voyages is also timed to coincide with the nesting season of the waved albatross colony on the island of Española which is a fitting finale to our time in the Galápagos. In short, this archipelago is a destination which every naturalist must visit, to have their understanding remoulded, to walk in the footsteps and with the pondering mind of Darwin, and witness one of the wild world's true wonders.
