Join wildlife photographer Nick Garbutt on our Festival of Cats which is dedicated to observing and photographing some wonderful felines including lion, leopard and cheetah.
For our Festival of Cats, we have taken over the superb Sable Alley Lodge which is situated in one of the finest concessions in Northern Botswana, the Khwai Private Reserve, an ideal location for wildlife photography. What makes Khwai exceptional is having 200,000 hectares of mopane forest, grassland and marsh to explore at our leisure, from the comfort of our outstanding lodge. Being a concession we have much greater freedom than in neighbouring national parks allowing us to venture off road and have complete flexibility when it comes to the itinerary and our photography.
Khwai Private Reserve is home to numerous lion prides, with females and their cubs weaving along the water's edge after waterbuck and impala, and we hope to capture various lion images for our portfolios. We can photograph leopards stalking warthogs, their lithe bodies pressed to the earth, so stealthy they seem to gain ground without moving at all. We may also observe serval and cheetah, and there is a dazzling array of other mammals and birds that we can encounter as we explore Khwai and further afield in search of wildlife photographic opportunities.
Led by award-winning wildlife photographer Nick Garbutt and Wildlife Worldwide founder Chris Breen, this will certainly be a trip of a lifetime.
