A week-long trip to enjoy the spring flowers and birds of northern and western Crete as well as its key cultural site, the palace of Knossos, from two comfortable hotels.
One tenth of Crete's plants (more than 180 species!) are endemic to the island – the greatest proportion of any island in Europe. Although Crete lies off the main bird migration routes, the range of species here can be diverse, and close views can be stunning. The western end of Crete is the wildest and most spectacular part of the island, and we are strategically placed for trips to the best sites. In addition we will visit the Palace of Knossos, a relic of Minoan culture.
