Sketching and painting from life is one thing, but when your subject animal is anything but a sloth, the challenge changes yet again!
Observing a fantastic variety of both rare and iconic species, Trevor Waugh will teach skills to help you paint a range of animals within the Cotswold Wildlife Park.
Drawing from life is good practice and you will learn to 'get your eye in', to notice the important information and translate it quickly into your study. Well observed studies will allow you to capture the essence of your subject. Discover how the animal moves, understand its anatomy and proportion. The purpose of the workshop is not to achieve a perfectly finished piece of art, but to develop your techniques, sketching thumbnails of your subjects in a variety of poses and gathering information which you can later use as reference.
