Colombia’S Rare Primates With Kate Humble

From: £Contact us

Join Kate Humble in the wildlife-rich nation of Colombia as we explore this remarkable country in search of its finest and rarest primates, including several endemic species.

Colombia is a mecca of biodiversity with more than 2,000 species of birds and over 400 mammals. The country is also prolific when it comes to endemism as it is thought that approximately 10% of all the species in the world are only found within the borders of this South American nation. It was this incredible diversity that had the most profound impact on Kate Humble when she visited Colombia for the very first time in November 2019 and knew straightaway that she would be returning at the earliest opportunity.

The question now was finding the trip that showcased Colombia's biodiversity in the best way. After some deliberation we realised that nowhere is this encapsulated best than in the country's sheer variety of primates which currently includes a superb 41 different species.

At Wildlife Worldwide in conjunction with local expert naturalists in Colombia, we have developed a unique itinerary that gives us excellent opportunities to observe some of the country's finest and rarest primates including several endemics such as cotton-top tamarin, ornate titi and slivery-brown bare-face tamarin. Whilst the primates will be the primary focus of this trip, we will also dedicate time to enjoy Colombia's kaleidoscopic assortment of birds, reptiles, insects and other mammals which we come across as we explore this extraordinary country.

Why not join Kate Humble as she returns to Colombia in search of its incredible, rare and endemic primates?
