Among the world’s finest destinations for mammals, Colombia is home to a mouth-watering array of rarities, including spectacled bear, mountain tapir and the highly endangered variegated spider monkey.
Our unrivalled wildlife tour covers a huge range of habitat in central and eastern Colombia, including paramo for spectacled bear, montane forests for silvery-brown tamarin, grey-handed night monkey and mountain tapir, and lowland habitats for giant anteater, southern tamandua and ornate titi. Wherever we look for mammals, there are countless dazzling birds to see too.
Extensions before and after the tour give you the chance of seeing even more endemic primates, including the fabulous cotton-top tamarin. Contact us for more details.
The full itinerary detail is available on our website.
Please note: Owing to the remoteness of some of the sites we visit, some accommodation on this tour, though clean, falls well below the standard we typically offer. For those keen to see a wide range of Colombia’s mammals, we offer a pre-tour extension to the north coast of Colombia where the charming endemic cotton-top tamarin is found, and a post-tour extension to Colombia’s southern border, home of several very rare primates.
