From Orlando's world-famous theme parks to Miami's Art-Deco treasures, this self-drive itinerary traces Florida's beautiful Atlantic coast, focussing on the glorious golden stretch known as The Palm Beaches. Appropriately coined the Gold Coast for its seemingly endless miles of pristine sands lined by swaying palms, it's home to everything from millionaires' mansions and exquisite luxury resorts to celebrity-owned restaurants and world-class diving and golf.
Day 1: UK/Orlando
Enjoy included airport lounge access before your daytime flight to Orlando, Florida. On arrival, pick up your hire car and drive to your hotel – the superb Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress.

Days 2-3: Orlando
You're never too old to enjoy the super-sized themes parks of Disney World, SeaWorld and Universal Studios, but if you choose to avoid them, four days with a hire car at Orlando's Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress will give you ample opportunity to see more than just pirates and princesses. The hotel offers 1,500 acres of lakes and lush landscaping, a signature Jack Nicklaus golf course, tennis, rock climbing, jogging, biking and a lagoon-size pool with all manner of waterslides. In Orlando itself, shop and relax in the stylish downtown district, or discover the restaurants and microbreweries of the boho 'Milk District', a neighbourhood on the rise.

Days 4-5: Vero Beach

Days 6-8: The Palm Beaches
Continue south to the golden beaches and year-round sunshine of The Palm Beaches. No longer just an enclave for the ultra-wealthy, the city offers everything from eco-tours and water sports to theatres and galleries. Be sure to take a stroll along famed Worth Avenue, renowned for its Addison Mizner architecture, and to visit the former mansion of Henry Morrison Flagler. The Gilded Age estate was proclaimed by the New York Herald as 'grander and more magnificent than any other private dwelling in the world' and is now open to the public as the Flagler Museum.
Days 9-10: Miami
Head to Miami and the hot-spot neighbourhood of South Beach. The Marriot South Beach is wonderfully located on Ocean Drive, along whose length stands the largest collection of tropical Art Deco architecture in the world, some 800 pastel treasures from the Twenties, Thirties and Forties. Aside from the architecture and time spent in cafes 'beautiful' people watching, golfing, sunbathing or even trips to the Everglades can all be arranged.
Days 11-12: Miami/UK
Drive to the airport today, drop off your hire car and board your overnight flight back to the UK, arriving the next morning.
