This trip lets us appreciate the splendour of the Indus and Markha Valley, situated south of Ladakh and north of Zanskar.
The Indus valley is the main axis cutting through Ladakh. In the villages on either side we see the daily life of Ladakhis unfolding in its entirety, strongly influenced by both Buddhism and Tibet. The most prestigious of Ladakh's monasteries are found here in this valley.
In the wide Markha valley your eyes are constantly drawn to the snow-capped peaks above. The scenery alternates between magnificent desert landscapes and green oases, home to the colourful inhabitants. We pass numerous villages throughout the trek.
