A cobalt sea, golden sands, tropical palm trees and the warmth of the sun on your skin as you admire the views you might think youre in the Caribbean rather than Cornwall. The coast and countryside around St Ives offers some of the best walking in the South West. St Ives itself is nestled between two big bays where you can watch the world go by, or surfers battling the waves offshore. The quirky narrow winding streets of this former fishing village, old tightly packed cottages and picturesque harbour are a joy to stroll around and the town has a wealth of small shops, galleries and museums. The light and landscape of this corner of Cornwall continue to attract and inspire artists, with its beautifully rugged coastline, secret coves and long sandy beaches. The Treloyhan Manor Hotel sits right on the Cornish Coast Path. There are beautiful walks right from the doorstep, taking in bays, beaches and dramatic cliff tops. We explore the most westerly points of England at Lands End and the furthest south, the Lizard Peninsula. We will also explore inland villages, abandoned mining villages, visit the Minack Theatre perched on the cliff edge overlooking the sea, and enjoy lush woodland walks inland covering some ancient standing stone sites.
