Visit the spectacularly beautiful ‘White Continent' on this ultimate Antarctica Adventure holiday. Your cruise operates from Ushuaia in the very far south of Argentina and you will have the opportunity to experience vibrant, cosmopolitan Buenos Aires en-route. The  pristine wilderness of Antarctica, 600 miles south of the South America continent, is best explored on a small expedition vessel, such as Hebridean Sky, allowing a comfortable journey. This all-suite yacht accommodates a maximum of 114 passengers which are split into small groups for zodiac excursions. Travel the small channels , visit penguin rookeries and land in scenic bays. Witness the spectacular sunrise over the Lemaire Channel and the dramatic bay of Paradise Harbour and perhaps swim in the volcanic heated waters off Deception Island. 


Day 1 Depart the UK for your overnight flight to Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina.

Day 2 On arrival transfer to the Mine boutique hotel in the trendy district of Palermo. The surrounding area is one of the best spots for sampling Buenos Aires famous night life, with many restaurants and bars nearby. At the weekends, Palermo Soho hosts an outdoor fairs market on both Saturday and Sunday.

Day 3 A free day to explore Buenos Aires. Visit the colourful port neighbourhood area of Boca, where you can watch tango in the streets, and see the famous Boca Juniors stadium. Alternatively, take a day trip out of Buenos Aires to see the Tigre Delta, which is best explored by boat.

Day 4 Transfer to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia in the very far south of Argentina. The town is positioned on the northern shore of the Beagle Channel and is named after the ship which Darwin sailed here in 1832. The town itself is easy to explore by foot and there are some fine seafood restaurants which serve the local specialities of centolla (king crab) and cholga (giant mussels).

Day 5 A free morning to explore Ushuaia; perhaps visit the Tierra del Fuego National park. In the afternoon embark onto your ship the Hebridean Sky, where you are welcomed by the ships onboard crew. After dinner, you will sail down the Beagle channel hopefully spotting Magellanic Penguins, Rock Cormorants, and Sea Lion colonies. The Hebridean Sky has capacity for a maximum of 114 people, and the spacious cabins all have sea views. The ships has a sundeck with a jacuzzi, library with internet and an exercise room.

Day 6 A two day crossing of the Drake Passage. As you sail south you will have opportunities to spot Albatrosses, Prions, and Petrels which frequently follow the ship. Also held on aboard are lectures on the wildlife, history and geology of the white continent. The journey time can vary for this part of the trip; depending on the sea conditions but you will normal arrive off the South Shetland Islands by the evening of day 7.

Day 7

Day 8 The captain of the boat will arrange a flexible itinerary based on the ice conditions and weather. You will visit the most scenic bays and channels of the peninsula, while stopped of at penguin rookeries, seal wallows, bird colonies and whale feeding areas, plus historic & scientific sites. Possible sites you may visit along the way include picturesque Neko Harbour, sheltered Paradise Harbour, the Humpback Whale favoured Wilhelmina Bay, the striking Lemaire Channel, the wildlife-filled Penola Channel, or the majestic Neumayer Channel. Other possible stops include active scientific bases such as Poland’s Arctowksi or Ukraine’s Vernadskiy as well as an historic base such as U.K.’s Port Lockroy or Wordie House. Further potential excursions are at Adelie, Chinstrap and Gentoo Penguins abound, and Weddell, Crabeater and Elephant Seals are often found hauled out to rest along with predatory Leopard Seals and the aggressive Antarctic Fur Seal. Later in the season Humpback Whales are frequent visitors along with Orca sightings.

Day 13 Begin your return journey back to Ushuaia. The onboard team will continue with presentations about Antarctica and its future, along with further opportunities for more wildlife spotting.

Day 14

Day 15 Arrive early in the morning back into Ushuaia, and transfer to the airport for your flight back to Buenos Aires. On arrival private transfer back to the Mine hotel, as before.

Day 16 Depart Buenos Aires for your return flight to the UK
