This takes you from the Ethiopian highlands (Africa’s largest mountain range), to the horn of Africa - Djibouti, the deserts of Sudan and the coral reefs of the Red Sea. This trip takes in major exotic-sounding places, like Khartoum, Djibouti, The Danikal Depression and gets well off the beaten track in between.This trip is part of a longer expedition starting in Harare of Kampala. Days 1 to 15 Addis Ababa, the capital.

Spend a week exploring the country.
Days 16 to 31 Ethiopia
Visit the 12th century rock-hewn churches of Lalibela.
Explore the city markets in Mekele.
Take a 3 day 4x4 trip into the Danakil Depression.
Visit the holy city of Axum.
Trek the Simeon Mountains.
Days 32 to 38 Sudan
Khartoum, the capital.
Visit Hamed al Nil Tomb - experience the largest market in Sudan: Omdurman Souq, as well as visit the daily camel market or take a boat trip on the Nile.
Pyramids at Meroe.
Follow piste tracks through the Nubian Desert.
Ferry€ross Lake Nasser from Wadi Halfa to Abu Simbel
Days 39 to 52 Egypt
Abu Simbel - visit the great stone monuments of Ramses II.
Aswan - stroll along the corniche, visit the temple at Philae or Elephantine Island.
2 day traditional felucca sailboat cruise to Edfu & Kom Ombo.
Luxor - take a day tour to the Valley of Kings & Workers, also visit Karnak & Luxor Temples.
Red Sea Coast - relax on the beach for a couple of days or try your hand at various watersports such as snorkelling, windsurfing or scuba diving in the cool clear blue waters of the Red Sea.
