Musandam, the geographic oddity thrust into the Strait of Hormuz, an enclave of Omani territory surrounded by the UAE, is a place of steep mountains, remote villages and sinuous fjords, unlike anywhere else in Oman. The 21st Century intrudes only in the guise of luxury beach retreats, and after exploring some of the rest of the country, Musandam is the perfect way to cap off your Omani adventure.
