Rajasthan is a feast for all senses. Natures rich colours, cries of the peacocks as the sun rises, rustle of silk saris and aromatic spices. Away from the hustle and bustle of city life, the Indian countryside offers a different picture of a country we know so well, with villages where time has stood still. From bustling Delhi, where our journey begins, to the tranquil Rajasthan countryside, busy gives way to relaxed. Buildings and highways are replaced by green fields and crops of wheat, mustard and marigolds. Jaipur, known as the Pink City, is surrounded by rugged hills, majestically crowned with forts. Discover the city streets on our Heritage walk, explore the fascinating fortress and amble the streets of the old village of Amer, seeing craftsmen at work. We now reach the tranquil countryside where, from Jojawar and Narlai, we discover the region at its most traditional and beautiful. Village walks take us into local communities to see how they live, work and tend their crops and a train journey finishes with high tea in the forest. Well stop by a school to see children at study, enjoy scenic views from Elephant Hill and visit Kumbhalgarh Fort, situated in the Aravalli Hills. Udaipur, famous for its Lake Palace also offers a wonderful centre for our lake and countryside walk before we fly to Delhi to connect with our flight back to London. The Taj Mahal One of the wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal is an icon of India.
