ITINERARY BY DAY
Day 1 – Arrival Mandalay - Mingun
After arrive by morning flight in Mandalay a Private car will drive you to the hotel for check-in. In the afternoon drive to Mingun. A former king started construction on the greatest Stupa in the world here in the 18th century. However when an astrologer predicted the king would die upon completion, construction was promptly stopped. The gargantuan base and worlds’ largest hanging bell are still on display here. In the evening return to Mandalay for dinner.
Day 2 - Mandalay - Pyin Oo Lwin
Today leave Mandalay and drive to Pyin Oo Lwin, a former British Colonial Hill Station. Originally named Maymyo, after the British coronel May that established the town. It is popular for its’ beautiful botanical gardens, built by Turkish prisoners of war during the First World War. Other highlights to take in are Purcell tower; the morning vegetable market and Naung Kan Gyi Paya from where the entire town can be seen. After a day in this picturesque town drive back to Mandalay.
Day 3 – 5 Mandalay – Bagan (Road to Mandalay)
After Breakfast visit the Morning Market at the border and return to Mandalay to board the luxury river cruise. Spend the next 3 days in complete comfort while gliding along the river. During the day numerous highlights from Mandalay to Bagan will be visited while in the evenings delicious dinners will be served on board and€companied by local entertainment.
Day 6 - Bagan - Mt. Popa
By far the best way to view Bagan is from high up in the sky. Today board a hot air balloon for a bird eye view of the ancient city. Watch the landscapes drift by and enjoy the serene atmosphere. After the landing a celebratory glass of champagne will be served. In the afternoon travel to mount Popa and visit the mountain top monestary before heading back to he hotel.
Day 7 - Bagan – Inle Lake (Heho) - (Red Mountain Wine Tasting)
Depart from Bagan on the morning flight to Heho Airport. Upon arrival at Shwe Nyaung a stroll over the town market is a must. To further work up an appetite travel up to a renowned hillside estate for Myanmar wine tasting. After the well-deserved lunch continue to Inle Lake for a relaxing afternoon.
Day 8 - Inle Lake - Indein
Spend a full day traveling around the lake. Admire the unique “one legged” rowing style of your boatman while being brought from village to village passing between the famous floating gardens of Inle Lake.
Day 9 - 11 – Inle Lake – Ngapali (Thandwe)
In the morning fly directly from Heho to Thandwe Airport. A short drive to Ngapali Beach where the next 3 days are spent completely at leisure.
Day 12 - Ngapali - Yangon
A swift morning flight will take you to Yangon. Spend the morning at leisure, shopping at Scott Market or admiring the colonial architecture. In the afternoon enjoy a high tea in the famous Strand Hotel before boarding a river cruise for dinner.
Day 13 - Yangon Departure
Spend the day at leisure before being brought to the airport for the departure flight.
