This nine-day self drive starts with two nights in Montréal, a multicultural city with a vibrant downtown and superb selection of boutiques, restaurants, cafés and bars. From here you'll head into the magnificent landscapes of Saint Alexis-des-Montes for 3 nights at Hotel Sacacomie, set on a beautiful lake this log-cabin style hotel embraces the great outdoors and there is a multitude of experiences to enjoy from hiking and lake swimming to kayaking, boating and wildlife viewing. Follow this up with a two-night stay in Quebec City where there is time to explore the cobbled lane ways and streets of Old Quebec City - a UNESCO world heritage site.
Days 1-2: UK/Montréal
Enjoy included airport lounge access before your daytime flight to Montréal. Upon arrival, transfer to your city hotel, perfectly located next to the Notre Dame Basilica. Feeling refreshed, the following day is free to explore Montréal at your own pace. Days 3-5: Hotel Sacacomie
Today, you'll pick up your rental car and make for the thickly-forested shores of Lake Sacacomie bordering the Mastigouche Wildlife Reserve. This tranquil retreat offers the chance to relax and immerse yourself in the magnificent surroundings. The lake gives opportunity for myriad water activities while there are also miles of hiking trails to follow at a leisurely pace. If you prefer the idea of something less energetic, the GEOS Spa is an ideal place to wind down and relax. You'll have three nights here to truly explore and enjoy the peaceful surrounds.
Days 6-7: Québec City
After a relaxing stay at Hotel Sacacomie, make your way to Québec City. This fortified city is one of the oldest in North America and the picturesque old town is a living, breathing museum home to a maze of atmospheric cobbled streets lined with 17th- and 18th-century houses and charming bistros. Indeed, with so much history on display, the city has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The next day the world, or the city at least, is your oyster today. Perhaps get your bearings with a guided tour, or tickle the taste buds with a food-based guided walk. There's much to enjoy here, and the city is a photographer's paradise, so be sure to keep your camera charged.
Days 8-9: Québec City/UK
Enjoy a last day to explore before transferring to the airport for your homeward flight, arriving on day nine.
