Embrace your inner cowboy on this tailor-made holiday to the Lone Star State. You’ll start in historic Fort Worth, ‘the City of Cowboys and Culture’, before heading into Hill Country and a traditional Texan ranch with an infinity pool, classic Texan food and miles of riding trails to explore. Round your trip off with a stay in cosmopolitan Dallas where you’ll hang up your spurs to explore the city’s 68-acre arts district, perhaps catch a touring Broadway show and dine out in style at any number of world-class restaurants.
Days 1-2: UK/Fort Worth
Flying into Dallas/Fort Worth, your private transfer will bring you to your downtown hotel. Centrally located in Sundance Square, where shopping and entertainment are at the fore, you’ll see the contrast of its early 20th century architectural heritage set against glittering skyscrapers. Over the next two days you’re free to explore and embrace – as it does – Fort Worth’s Wild West traditions. Coined ‘the City of Cowboys and Culture’, there’s much to see and do, from NASCAR racing, rodeos and cowboy cuisine to world-class museums and boutique shopping. Take a trip to the Stockyards National Historic District, once home to cowboys, cattlemen and outlaws, and be privy to a true taste of the West. Or, hang up your boots for the day to explore internationally recognised museums in a wonderful park-like setting.
Days 3-5: Wildcatter Ranch
On your third day your private transfer will take you through the beautiful North Texas Hill Country to Wildcatter Ranch. This Texan guest ranch immerses you in the true spirit of the region, with Western style guest rooms and 25 miles of horseback riding trails to explore. Your three-night stay includes full board and a horseback ride but there are many other activities available too. Perhaps enjoy sunset views from your back porch or spend a day on a historical Jeep tour or trying your hand at archery, tank fishing and sport clay pigeon shooting. For those that prefer to relax, the ranch’s infinity pool, hot tub and massage room are all appealing options.
Days 6-7: Dallas
Departing Wildcatter Ranch, again by private transfer, you'll head for the big city excitement of Dallas. Art exhibitions and touring Broadway theatre shows are just some of the many highlights in the USA’s largest continuous arts district while the excellent farmers' market and Dallas' quaint neighbourhoods give visitors a taste of Dallas's burgeoning culinary scene. Unique attractions abound; the George W. Bush Presidential Library presents the only exact replica of the oval office, and a visit to the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza is a must to learn more about the Kennedy assassination. Or, you might prefer to relive the halcyon days of that famed 1980s television series on a visit Southfork Ranch or cheer on one of Dallas' five professional sport teams.
Stay: Warwick Melrose Hotel Dallas (Superior)
