Guided Walking Holidays - Caribbean Island Hopping Conjure up images of blue seas, white sandy beaches, palm trees stirred by gentle breezes, mango trees and banana palms and youll only scratch the surface of what the Caribbean has to offer. Exploring the Caribbean on this holiday brings with it a real sense of freedom as you discover three islands, each with their own distinct diverse flavours, rhythm and culture. We begin our exploration on St Lucia which is quite simply a beautiful island. Coastal walks, botanical gardens and exotic beaches are all waiting to be discovered. The island is a fusion of French, British and African traditions - an intriguing mix! Taking a short ferry ride, we head to the French-Caribbean island of Martinique, where Napoleons Empress Josephine was born. Well discover Fort de France, enjoy a walk that takes us from the Atlantic to the Caribbean coast, through a rainforest, and time for a swim. On to Dominica, a spectacular wild, green island of rugged mountains, lush rainforests, rushing rivers, and sparkling waterfalls. Relatively untouched by tourism, this is certainly an island for nature lovers offering a wide variety of hikes, some following routes developed by the Kalinago (Carib) population, long before Columbus arrived. Take the opportunity to relax in a sulphur spa and enjoy a boat trip. This is certainly an island for nature lovers as it offers a wide variety of hikes. For our final stop, we return to St Lucia for one last night in familiar surroundings before flying home. On our final day we travel to the south of the island to Balenboche Estate for a tour and afternoon tea; a civilised end to a fantastic two weeks. Please note: We use local ferry services between islands and as such, it may be necessary to adjust the itinerary should schedules change. Please note our 2019 itinerary also visits Antigua where well take a rain forest hike and explore the capital of St Johns.
