I suppose it is deliberatily done, but in my opinion a straight horizon would have been better - not always, but here.

why is it that your other pics all have 5 stars but this one which is only slightly less pleasing has none ?? Can people not be reasonable about their ratings?? ......DrG tells me to be constructive in my criticism, can He, and others not do the same when rating pictures???????!!! .... when I see 5 stars on a picture I automatically assume that it is at least going to be a good picture .....

Now then Luke... let's take a step back for a wee moment and consider what you are implying. You're of course assuming that any picture where I have commented, and that has a rating of five stars, has been given 5 stars by me. Incorrect.

You're also assuming that I should have the time or inclination to enlarge every picture via recent photos. Wrong again....

Well, you know what they say about assumption....? As has been mentioned many times on grapevine tendrils and in rants under pictures, opinions are divided, and ratings are highly subjective. Yesterday, I wandered around the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the NHM and (personally) was apalled at some of the judges comments, and the banality of some of the commended shots (my opinion), and perhaps agreed with the judges ranking within categories in only two or three cases. I know one of the judges and I have had such discussions with him before.

So... my advice before you automat

I will just add to the above comment: Luke, I did exactly what you ask, I did not rate this photo (I rated the others in this series) and gave a reason for it.  I do not think it doesn't deserve any stars, but those I choose to rate are the four or five star shots (in my opinion) and for the reason I gave it did not qualify for that. That said, with the huge number of photos on GoW, several splendid photos have yet to be discovered!

I think it's a little unrealistic to expect even minor deities to comment/star all photos on the site!  It is, after all, a travel site and not a critical photo one.  Besides, there aren't enough hours in the day, especially given the extremely SLOW speed of the site.

I must admit I also prefer the other shot of the cathedral though.  This is just a shot of the interior, no more no less - and yes, it would benefit from slight straightening!

Sorry W, I'm not really getting at you and being hypercritical.  I do enjoy many of your shots, just not this one particularly.

Wow, well it has certainly provoked much discussion. My immediate thought was are you into HDR? We had a lecture at our local camera club a couple of weeks ago and this shot is very similar to one the lecturer used to demonstate how to cope with interior lighting.
