"It rocks." Yeah! Couldn't agree more, I love my old home. I've still got a flat in Limehouse, and love going back to visit every year. "Have a drink in a traditional pub."For a really, really good old-style London pub you can't beat The Grapes on Narrow Street (my local). It's a tiny place, long and thin with a small balcony over the Thames. Unlike the better known river pubs it doesn't get too packed, and is mostly full of locals. Sir Ian McKellen has just bought it, and Dickens wrote about it, not a bad pedigree.

Yep, it certainly does rock. Born in the centre of London and whenever I come into town I always think what a great place it is.

Hear hear! Best city in the world! Just spent the past week playing tourist with a friend over from LA . The museums and architecture are just brilliant! Can't believe how busy it is at this time of year.

I find it fascinating to read how visitors perceive our shores... has anyone read the Lonely Planet Guide to the UK? Gripping...! That said, sorry all, but I really dont like London... give me the provinces every time.

I'm sure it is only Londoners who find London attractive Pam. I find it a dirty, noisy, expensive, crowded city with claustrophobic sweaty tubes for transport. I'm sure there must be attractive bits (St Catherine's Docks springs to mind and there are some great museums) but whenever I visit I'm usually glad to leave. Sorry...

Ouch, BB, I don't think it is just Londoners who find the city attractive. But I can appreciate that some people don't like the city, and there's no point in trying to persuade either side to change their minds (even though I could give you a long list of beautiful parts of the place)! Like Marmite, I reckon it's a love or hate affair.
