    Scott.... think you'll find this is a white-fronted rather than a white throated bee eater. It is quite an odd combo although there is no reason why these two would not tolerate each other.

    I've just returned from Botswana and Zambia and saw mixed flocks of carmines with European bee eaters and. often within those flocks, there would be a carmine perching next to a European rather than another carmine.... strange

    Thanks for that. I'd better change all my titles! I'm still amazed the kingfisher landed on that particular frond.
