The Last of the Sun by satkinson

There was cloud over most of the sky, but a tiny patch of sun remained near the horizon that lit up the new aspen leaves. It was worth the drive up there and the drive back in a huge rain storm in the dark. It's taken at Oxbow Bend on the Snake River in Grand Teton NP - an iconic spot for photos

I love the reflection and composition. It pulls the eyes from left to right with the mountain on the right and sunlight coming through. It is so hard to find water later in the day which is undisturbed by wind so you can also see the sun, yet with clouds to get good light. Nice work, great image.

I could google in, but where's Grand Teton NP? It looks out of this world and the contrast of colours is amazing!

Thanks for the comments. I cropped the top portion of the photo off to make it more panoramic! Grand Teton NP is in Wyoming, just south of Yellowstone NP. It's a range of mountains, running north to south, with a few lakes and rivers in front. It is a lot more picturesque in the evening, when the light's a bit better, like here! Definitely worth a trip if you're visiting Yellowstone.
