The world according to SarahC

Mountain/Desert/Ocean/Jungle... which one are you?
Jungle, so much to find if you look carefully. But under the sea counts as jungle too right...kinda looks like it.

What was your first great travel experience?
I've travelled a lot with my Mum and an early trip I remember was to Tunisia when she got fed up of English weather and I learnt spontaneity is possibly the greatest travelling friend. But the ultimate was setting off for India on my own at the tender age of 18 after one week planning. I learnt so much about different people and learnt self sufficience the lonely way.

What has been your favourite journey?
Catching the bus from Durban all the way through to Harare - moonlit mountains and sunrise over African bush.

What are your Top 5 places worldwide?
1. Standing amongst \\\'The Senate\\\' stand of trees in the Sequoia National Park, California. 2. Sigiriya Rock in Sri Lanka, imagining it as a working palace. 3. The back rivers of Kerala, India, always a surprise around the corner! 4. Great Zimbabwe is truly great. 5. Finally, its close between Ngorongoro Crater at sunrise, or British Bluebell woods in springtime....

Recommend a special place to stay
There\\\'s a small guesthouse in Ladysmith on the border of Lesotho, lovely cool green gardens and fabulously different rooms.

Which three items do you always pack?
Notebook, sarong - useful for everything, camera perhaps

Which passport stamp are you proudest of?
Lesotho

Which passport stamp would you most like to have?
Papua New Guinea

Where or what is your guilty travel pleasure?
fruit juice on the streets

Window or aisle?
Window!!!!

  • Rogaineing - anyone else ever heard of it?

I've recently moved to Melbourne and some new friends invited me 'rogaineing'.  I'd never heard of it, and the description didn't sound that appealing, but I'm always up for something new....

  • Sledding!

Having just returned from a tri-decennial winter olympiad (i.e. turning 30 with fun) I feel I must let everyone know of the alternative winter sport.  I have skiied but it's not exactly a beg
