The world according to Ruth

Mountain/Desert/Ocean/Jungle... which one are you?
I love what you can see and achieve with all of them, my only problem is my sea legs, or lack of them!

What was your first great travel experience?
Starting in St Petersburg, then travelling over night to Moscow before boarding the Trans-Mongolian to Beijing passing through Siberia, Outer-Mongolia, the Gobi desert & seeing the Great Wall of China before heading to Shainghai to get a ferry to Osaka to travel around Japan for 2 1/2 weeks.

What has been your favourite journey?
My first one, not only because I caught the travel bug but I also arranged & organised the majority of the trip

What are your Top 5 places worldwide?
Igaucu falls, Siam Reap, Kyoto, Moscow & Chiang Mai

Recommend a special place to stay
Hostel Natura, in Igaucu (brazil) Not only is the location amazing but the staff are fantastic. if you stay there you will not want to leave. Also The Ritz or the Jasmine Hotel in Hanoi if you are in that part of Vietnam. Clean, friendly & helpful

Which three items do you always pack?
Camera, Insect Repellent & books (reading & guide)

Which passport stamp are you proudest of?
All of them but if I have to pick Russia

Which passport stamp would you most like to have?
Fiji

Where or what is your guilty travel pleasure?
There is no guilt when travelling

Window or aisle?
not fussed
