Hartland Quay by Peterj2002

Drove down to north Devon this week and spent a couple of nights near Bideford. Weather was bloody awful for two of the days but on the third…………. You travel the globe and sometimes forget what a beautiful part of the world we live in.

This is a fabulous, beautiful, wild part of the county, and one I hadn't explored much until last year when we spent a week in the area around Easter. We were extremely fortunate with the weather.

I thought I had similar photos on here, but I obviously never got around to uploading them. If you want to have a look please click here to see my set on Flickr.

Where did you stay? We loved the area so much we considered moving down there; not to be for now though.

We certainly do live in a gorgeous part of the world and it is true that it is too easy to miss it in our clamour for everywhere else.

Many thanks for your kind comment on my 2013 shot. It was taken from our bedroom of a cottage we rented a year or two back in Bargemon, Provence. By far and away the most beautiful and romantic holiday we have had to date. will give you all the hideous detail. Add to that the additional almost getting washed out by the worst rains in Provence in 70 years and it had better have been the best holiday cos it so nearly didnt happen!!!!
