I get seasick and don't particularly like heights, so had better go for desert

What was your first great travel experience?
Morocco when my daughter was just 3. Coming back to the UK just before Xmas '84 was culture shock

What has been your favourite journey?
So many and so different. Trans-Siberian Railway perhaps, or was it the journey to Timbuktu?

What are your Top 5 places worldwide?
Antarctica, Western Australia, New Zealand (if not raining) Libya, Mongolia

Recommend a special place to stay
Mongolian ger is a must in the Winter

Which three items do you always pack?
Journal, camera, Immodium!

Which passport stamp are you proudest of?
Timbuktu in the days when you had to get a passport stamp in every town you entered

Which passport stamp would you most like to have?
From the Silk Route, my next must-go

Where or what is your guilty travel pleasure?
Have been known to frequent McDonalds from time to time, something I'd never do at home!
