Hong Kong and China

How long were you there for?
3 weeks

What was the single highlight of your trip?
Thats a difficult one... cuddling a baby panda in Chengdu was a massive highlight for me but I would have to say Yangshuo was superb, I would love to go back! The scenery was amazing, we cruised on the river Li, cycled in the countryside, took a raft down the river and saw cormorant fishing. AMAZING

Any lowlights/cautionary tales?
Trying to get a taxi at night in Beijing was a complete nightmare... The wine... gosh it was terrible!!!!

Any absolutely MUST see sights/activities?
Yangshuo... again it was such an amazing place. The Great Wall at Mutianya, the scenery was absolutely stunning, even better as we got there so early nobody was about. Going on a pea boat along a the Shennong Stream, Yangtze River, being sang a folk song by our guide, very surreal and moving.

Any absolutely DON'T see sights/activities?
None.

If you could give one piece of advice, what would it be?
ALWAYS carry loo roll and anti bac gel.

Any other comments?
I think in 10 years time China will be a different place and it will have lost a lot of its beauty by the constant need to expand and develop. I just hope they preserve some of that beautiful countryside.
