Last Friday I had an interesting commission. It was requested via manstouchtours.com to take photos under stealth of a couple visiting from the USA who I was told would be at the second fountain on the Place de la Concorde from the Hotel Crillon at 19.45. It was relatively a last minute booking so I didn't have too much time to ponder it, and it was a good job because I can worry myself out of a job. I have to admit I was very excited by the job in hand. It turned out that the guy was going to propose to his girlfriend at the fountain and he wanted pictures of his girlfriend's reaction. It was a beautiful evening if not a little to brilliant light wise. I was in contact with him via sms messaging and he was keeping me informed of his progress en route. His girlfriend thought he was trading stocks! After a few minutes he arrived at where I had requested along with a bride and groom btw coincidentally. After some romantic embraces (and passionate kissing I must say) I observed my man reaching into his jacket pocket for the nugget, and a nugget it was! Mugging suddenly crossed my mind:) I resisted and continued to take photos unknownst to the beautiful new bride to be. When he got down on his knees and produced the nugget she burst into tears, I was waiting for the, was it good tears or bad? It was good tears! After some torrid and tearful face sucking I introduced myself and took some formal pix. We then headed to the Hotel Crillon where an horse and carriage awaited them, and of course a fine bottle of champagne. They requested I follow them to the Pont Alexander the 3rd, the most ornate bridge in Paris built in 1900 in art nouveau style for some more photos. I had to get a taxi because my gear is not light and I'm built for comfort not speed. The taxi driver looked at me as if I'd told him I was sleeping with his wife, and said "vous etes malade"? Of course I had to tip him more than was comfortable for me! Then after getting pix on the bridge I had to race to the Eiffel tower for the final photos before sending them and myself of into the sunset.
