We spent the morning with this lady, sitting in her ancient straw-roofed house drinking salted goat's milk tea! She was charming but the tea was disgusting!

This one's my fave, Jamie. She is Purna (our guide)'s auntie . What a face. Shame you can't capture that voice -- it was like something out of The Exorcist.

Okay you have aroused my curiosity - can one of you (Liz / Jamie) tell us more about these ladies? Thanks, BB

Sure, I'll fill you in ... We stayed with a Limboo family in Darap, a little village in a valley between Pelling and Yuksom. During our walks we met many local people. Number 3 is Purna's mother (Purna was our 21 yr old guide). Her name is Phiprani and she is 61. Number 1 is a neighbour and auntie of Purna's, but I didn't make a note of her name. She is slightly older that Phiprani. The other two ladies are from the Lepcha tribe and lived in a different part of the valley. They were extremely welcoming and very good fun. I need to write about them properly and will do in an 'experience'.

They all look very expressive. A good set of portraits.
