Hi ElliFry. I this this would have worked better if there was a subject in the foreground. A passing cyclist or a drunk sailor perhaps. If you'd taken this in Dec 2003 I could have been that drunk sailor!

It would. I did actually get one with a passing couple on a moped, which worked, however, it was even more blurry. I'm really not a great photographer!

I bet Jamie would admit he wasn't when he first started either! :) But look at his portfolio now - it's superb. The more you do, you better you get. I'd agree that you need a reference point here, but I like the rather brooding-backstreet-ghostly-menace that this building exudes.

But you've got the composition there already, ElliFry, don't put yourself down!

Sometimes blurry is not bad, especially if it adds something to a scene. If you have a shot that breaks 'the rules' but still gives something to the viewer, like a sense of place, action or emotion, stick it up!

Also bear in mind your set of photos, whether technically brilliant or not, provoked a lot of memories for me so the whole set worked well on that level. Please keep posting.

Thanks to both of you. That's mainly what I take them for - memories and information, though when they look nice it's a bonus.
