The world according to EHalford

Mountain/Desert/Ocean/Jungle... which one are you?
A bit of all of them, I'm a wanderer.

What was your first great travel experience?
When I was little I vividly remembered canoeing my way to Luxembourg as a 3 year old. I discovered recently that I'd just been on a small boating pond in Lowestoft; imagination had done all the rest!

What has been your favourite journey?
Trekking the Lemosho route up Kilimanjaro - epic scenery, fantastic challenge and such a brilliant feeling on reaching the summit.

What are your Top 5 places worldwide?
Kangaroo Island (South Australia), Beddgelert (North Wales), Norfolk (England), Forodhani Gardens, Zanzibar, Huacachina (Peru)

Recommend a special place to stay
Cae Du campsite, Beddgelert, North Wales. Beautifully situated, spotless, great facilities and the perfect jumping off point for the Aberglaslyn Gorge walk.

Which three items do you always pack?
Travel journal, camera and Mr Tetley (indespensible travel companion)

Which passport stamp are you proudest of?
South Africa - my first big adventure (apart from the phantom Luxembourg trip).

Which passport stamp would you most like to have?
I'd like my (UK) passport to be stamped in Europe. It's rubbish they don't stamp them any more.

Where or what is your guilty travel pleasure?
Local newspapers.

Window or aisle?
I don't mind! As long as I'm going somewhere.
