What a lovely tranquil scene. I have to say, though, that my personal favorite part is the "fullness" of the undergrowth. I love the way tropical greenery grows to the extent of every available square squillimetre having something growing in it so that forward progress is impossible. Great shot J, nice to see your work on here again.

Thanks Pam.... it's that fullness which I am ultimately frustrated by from a photography perspective because there's just so many places for things to hide! But being able to acess the fringes from my beloved water was fabulous.... earlier on this particular day, we were paddling further up the river and had two troops of gibbon calling to each other from either side.

Of course, pitcher plants are a speciality of peat swamps, and I managed to find a variety this year... another gallery to come. Cheers, J

ah yes, swamp!  the perfect place to leave a response to my irkedness at the bretagne moustique... what a lovely word to describe such a hideous thing!  (i know you wont agree but it ain't compulsory).

as it goes, to reply to your question, the "pi***d" referred to was my wrath, not my alcohol intake since mark doesnt really drink so, since solitary drinking is not a habit i care to cultivate (though I will tonight because we're home and he's gone home - working tomorrow), i rarely drink much while we're away together.  and, while we're on the subject, i dont like cidre so i'm no use to you in that department either.  sorry, catch you soon?
