So long... and thanks for all the fish by DrG
Deflected for long enough.... the temperature surely precludes a 5* rating, and maybe ttbko can guestimate my measurements for 'a jacket with the fastenings at the back!' Pre-skinny dipping in Antarc

You see, my difficulty is that there is nothing to give any clues about scale. If, as you have asserted, you measure 6'6" from head to amply clad feet, then that chest is in the high 40's, maybe even up to 54". Very creditable. On the other hand, as I say, scale is everything!
I hesitate to say mate, you have shown (or rather you havent, thankfully) fine and substantial cojones in uploading this one! However, I didnt hesitate with the stars! Everyone of them completely deserved! Respect sir! Total Respect!!! Px

Wa-heyyy! Nice buns!

Beautiful scenery in the distance but even more amazing foreground!
ttbko I'd guess 42" chest, 36 waist? Good guess?
Beautiful scenery in the distance & amazing foreground!

Ara, come on! What's a MAN to say after two ladies oogling over cojones and buns? Still with no PC and if the owner of this laptop found me looking at naked men - well my good wholsesome reputation and all that would go ar$seways!! But, mutual mutt, I concur with our master in that you have metaphorically shown "fine and substantial liathroidi in uploading this one"!

Well, that's set me up for the rest of the day!! They were just sayng on the radio that 19 June is the happiest day of the year, you've made this old girl smile broadly!
19th June by Pliers
Ohh, I'd guess you're 46" chest, 33" waist and a fellow Douglas Adams fan.
19th June by ttbko
Thanks Rhoda, I really couldnt bring myself to comment on the "foreground", particularly not after complimenting other, non-visible, anatomical details but you're not wrong lady!!!
Incidentally Doc, how's the ego doing??? P
20th June by DrG
P - my ego upped and left me yesterday sometime and has just staggered in the worse for wear! Kathryn's going to be in fits when/if she finds this. I'm still chuckling over Rhoda's summation followed by SolihullBob's more reserved approach. Fairplay to my brother nut (FT) for piping up and demonstrating some liathroidi to risk his wholesome reputation, especially as he started the heckling in the first place, back on 'Sundowners Antarctic style'. AngelaR - hope the grin lasted all happy day... and last, but by no means least, Pliers - indeed, a DA fan and have always found that title appropriate in my line of work.
I'm on one last get-up before Brueni, a week on the black lake of Tasek Merimbun surrounded by peat swamp forest, then via the mangroves to t'other half of the country and up into pristine rainforest for the next week. Travelling camera-lite unfortunately because of all the scientific gear but we'll see. Cheers All, DrG

Well, on the rumur that Katherine knows the truth - well about the 6'6" thing at any rate, might have to grass you up to her... who knows what we might learn.
Swamp and rainforest... you know how to live! There is nothing quite like the sucking sensation of mangrove mud on your boots to make you feel like you belong.... Enjoy!! P

Missed this shot - but don't things tend to drop off at that tempreture? As for stature...I met the good Dr. at destinations last year so I know the anatomical dimentions -so as for 6'6; that's just across his shoulders.....

Hey Jon, I've been looking for the right shot to leave a short comment and, sorry but this has to be it! Its such a good thing that GoW doesnt publish the number of times any one picture gets visited!!!!!
Anyway, I wanted to thank you for the bike shot. I fear I have always been a petrolhead and suspect that it will the way of my demise - though preferably not yet and, when it has to be, alone! That said, I have many "saw that and thought of you" situations where you are concerned since many of my questions that are provoked by your very detailed eye in your pictures, if not answered at the time by means of your descriptions, are shortly thereafter if I ask. I really appreciate your descriptive contributions and your willingness to teach, lucky students!!! Enjoy the last glass, Pam

What a shame. Here you are:-
'This image shows a lot of what makes wildlife photography so difficult,' says Wanderlust photo epert Steve Davey.
'The photographer has had to locate the subject of the picture & then get close enough to achieve a frame-filling shot. Photographically they have done everythiing pretty much right: cropping in close & achieving a good exposure. The crop could have been changed slightly to remove the dead space at the top of the picture, but this is a small point. The picture is sharp & very intriguing & one of those shots that you almost don't believe & want to keep looking at.'
You will be receiving a copy of Steve's book - Travel Photography (Footprint, £19.99) but you problably already know this.
I can just imagine what you felt like when you had captured this shot - I know what I felt like when I managed to get the shot of the humming bird in St Luci

thought I'd test out this new 'my comments' thing on a suitable picture and guess what I found :-) still makes me laugh reading all these old comments - 6'6" my a*** (or yours actually ) KKX

Also wondered if I could find this photo - and wonder how long it will be before you find this comment! And the 5 stars I have awarded it! Kathryn is right - it is amusing reading the old comments again, we really do need to enthuse people into commenting more on the new site. Somehow!!! Anyway, you may have inspired me to visit the Antartic, though I guess this is something of a rare species - the blue-balled, bare-cheek, furry footed professor - not even cropped close ;-)
