The world according to darrenlep

Mountain/Desert/Ocean/Jungle... which one are you?
Give me mountains any day ! I love to hike.

What was your first great travel experience?
An overland journey from Kenya to South Africa when I was 20 which took 6 months, from local buses, boats, trains, riding in the back of trucks to riding on the back of a young boys bicycle down to the Tanzania/ Malawi border !

What has been your favourite journey?
Thats a tough one, that Africa trip's right up there but spending a couple of months hiking among the mountains of Nepal just tops it !

What are your Top 5 places worldwide?
Annapurna Circuit, Nepal; The Grand Canyon, USA; Angkor Wat, Cambodia; New Zealand; Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe/ Zambia

Recommend a special place to stay
A great hostel in Portland, Oregon, USA. The North-west hostel. A very friendly place. Portland is also a great city, especially if you like beer like me ! The hostel is up there with some of the best in the world.

Which three items do you always pack?
Ear plugs, deet & a sense of adventure !

Which passport stamp are you proudest of?
Can't narrow it down to 1 ! Bolivia, Zimbabwe & Vietnam all from overland journeys.

Which passport stamp would you most like to have?
Sri Lanka

Where or what is your guilty travel pleasure?
Bringing home a bottle or two of beer, for my 400 strong beer wall

Window or aisle?
Window!
