The world according to Darren

Mountain/Desert/Ocean/Jungle... which one are you?
For the dramatic landscape, harsh environment and mystical beauty im part mountain. Coupled with part jungle. Being taken away from human influence and thrust in to the world of wildlife a jungle experience is unforgetable.

What was your first great travel experience?
Stranded on a Fijian island the size of a postage stamp with no care in the world.

What has been your favourite journey?
Trekking through the Borneon jungle on the Malay-Indonesian border in search of the elusive orang utan. The jungle was throbbing with life.

What are your Top 5 places worldwide?
Snowdonia National Park; London; Rome; South Island NZ; Bako National Park, Malaysia.

Recommend a special place to stay
For the proximity to wildlife and the opportunity to meet the proboscis monkey; Bako National Park (Kuching). Make sure you arrange an overnight stay to catch the wildlife late afternoon / early morning. Although dont expect much from the accommodation!!

Which three items do you always pack?
Good book, good walking boots and the camera.

Which passport stamp are you proudest of?
Fiji

Which passport stamp would you most like to have?
Zambia

  • A Jubilant Fijian Encounter

You think of Feeejeee and it strikes up images of golden sands, warm azure waters lapping onto tranquil shores and idyllic beach side cabins shaded by palm trees set under a cloudless, sun filled sky
  • A Fijian Hammock Encounter

Now this is why we came to Feeejeee; the weather idyllic, the ocean waters crystal clear, the palm trees posing a natural shelter you as you kick back and think of sweet nothings.
