The world according to Daisy Cropper
Mountain/Desert/Ocean/Jungle... which one are you?
It's too difficult picking just one.
What was your first great travel experience?
I wasn't allowed to travel abroad until I was 18 (protective parents), so as soon as my 18th birthday passed I was off to SE Asia, for two months. We trekked through Thai jungles, explored the temples at Angkor and had a fantastic trip.
What has been your favourite journey?
I couldn't pick one as the 'best'... Again it's just too difficult.
What are your Top 5 places worldwide?
The uber-relaxed island of Caye Caulker, Belize;
The animal-abundant cloud forests around Monteverde, Costa Rica;
A little town called Charmey in Switzerland;
Thailand: the unspoilt bits;
And the Welsh coast, where most of my childhood holidays were spent.
Recommend a special place to stay
Glenapp Castle, Ayrshire, Scotland. Simply amazing. Luxurious, grand rooms; fantastic food; beautiful skies for star-gazing; lovely, welcoming staff...
Which three items do you always pack?
Something to write with and on, digital camera, and anti-bacterial hand gel.
Which passport stamp are you proudest of?
I had to have my passport renewed fairly recently. Currently there are only two stamps in there. So not much to be proud of.
Which passport stamp would you most like to have?
There are too many to choose from!
Where or what is your guilty travel pleasure?
Cheese sandwiches... I know it's bad, but when I'm homesick or unwell I love a good sarnie!
Window or aisle?
Definitely window... I like to see how horrifically high up we are and to gaze down at the sea and distant, unknown landscapes below.
