I am following you!!!!! did you go into the tomb? I'm afraid I bottled out - claustrophobia not being a good look on a tourist of a certain age!
A lovely collection of images. I hope you had as good a time on your trip as we did on ours.

The Taj gets full marks for me simply by having the most romantic story of any building in theworld.

A fantastic shot and a great set of photos. As an added bonus we get an education from your description thrown in for free. Thanks Kev.

Thanks Ocelus - you would have more of a description if it wasn't limited to 200 characters!! I wanted to get away from the "traditional" image of the Taj and explain how the site was designed as a "whole". This image was intended to illustrate the scale of the mausoleum with the people lining up at the bottom of the image and the kites flying around the dome at the top.

And in answer to Pam - yes I did go inside (as indeed I did in 1973), but unlike then it was very crowded and you get herded round so quickly I don't even remember seeing the actual tombs this time!! Also you are not allowed to take photos inside. But it's not really claustrophobic (I suffer from that too) as there is lots of height.
