Mountain/Desert/Ocean/Jungle... which one are you?I like to see the world from unique vantage points, feel the sun on my face, hear the water beating upon the sand and explore sights unseen. I'm all 4 and so much more!
What was your first great travel experience? My first trip out of North America was for a study abroad program in Venezuela. I was able to spend my 21st birthday searching for anaconda in the wilderness of Venezuela's marsh lands. We not only found several, we also caught (and ate) fresh piranhas, went paragliding and spent a few nights in hammocks in a village in the middle of a river watching lightning storms all night.
What has been your favourite journey?I put out a call to social media friends to pick my next destination. They picked Greece, so I booked a flight, made a few plans and went just three days later! It was incredible! My favorite of all cities was Meteora (Greece) - monasteries dangling on cliff sides and hikes to last for days.
What are your Top 5 places worldwide?Meteora, Greece
Lake Maracaibo, Venezuela
Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA (There's no place like home)
Recommend a special place to stayMy Grandma's house in Albuquerque, New Mexico. There's nothing like fresh peach pie.
Which three items do you always pack?Camera, Journal and pen
Which passport stamp are you proudest of?Egypt. I'm happy to have made the decision to go, and am so proud to have gone alone and to keep an open curious mind.
Which passport stamp would you most like to have?North Korea
Where or what is your guilty travel pleasure?Finding beautiful outdoor places to go potty - for women we've got to put a bit more effort into where we drop our trousers, and I always make sure to get a good view - without letting others do the same ;)
