    On returning to Addis friends teased me for speaking Amharigna with a Gonderi accent. I speak very little Amharic - but I'm thrilled to be doing it with a recognisable accent! That's wonderful! Thank you to all my Gonderi friends for their efforts teaching me the language.

    Watching Green Turtles at night digging their nest and laying eggs on Longbeach, there must have been around 30 or so come ashore during the couple of hours I spent on the beach. Unfortunately there weren't any hatchlings making a dash for the sea.

    There were many great highlights but undoubtedly the trip to volunteer point which is the most accessible colony of King Penguins in the Falkland Islands is my most special memory, there were hundreds of King Penguins and their chicks and also Gentoo and Magellanic Penguins.
